Creative Partnerships: Outdoor Learning at Belvue School

Belvue is a secondary day special school in Northolt. The school would like to make more use of its outdoor space for both learning and playing. make:good (with whom I worked on this project as well as many others - use the search tool to find out which) were asked to develop proposals for the use of outdoor space both in a learning and play capacity.
This participative development fed into Peter Fink of FORM Associates designs to develop the grounds and play spaces at the school and create a much more useable, cohesive and exciting outdoor learning environment. Our initial role was to work with the staff and pupils to ascertain the current barriers to using the outside space. We experimented with different materials, activities and props to encourage exploration of the outdoors.
